Ronnie Mackintosh

About the Author In 2006, I began the MA Screenwriting programme at the Screen Academy Scotland, Edinburgh Napier University and furthered this with the MFA (Advanced Film Practice). I graduated in October, 2010. To date I've had four short films produced, which have screened at Festivals in the UK, America, France, Poland, Denmark and Australia. My first commissioned stage play, Multiple Choice, had a two week run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August, 2011, then moved on to The Byre Theatre, St Andrews. I was also one of the original writers for a recently launched smartphone/internet soap.

I've recently been very fortunate to have been selected as a participant in the EIFF Network development programme (full details can be seen here) and I expect this to keep me busy over the next few months. I'm also one of the twenty six Scottish writers selected to take part in the 26 Treasures exhibition taking place at the National Museum of Scotland between November 2011 and January 2012. In 2009, I was selected by the Screen Academy Scotland to take part in the MEDIA funded, 'Engage' European training initiative for writers, directors and producers, which allowed me to further develop a previous feature project at workshops and one to one sessions at film schools in Dublin, Edinburgh, Tallin and Helsinki. In 2011, I was longlisted for the BBC Writers Academy, and in 2008, I was a winner of the BBC Writersroom, 'Sharps' screenwriting competition.
